I like big butts, but she's not my type...:p
Anyway, not images, I like the second one better. I love the detail in the legs connecting to the thorax. Nice and sharp.

The composition is great, lighting is perfect, very sharp, but, They REALLY have to do something about that awful make-up. And they need to shave all that body hair,

These both truned out very nicely here, Great colors and details in these shots.

Thanks almo, Bald Eagle and Dragon Slayer for the nice compliments.
These were shot in Man mode, TV 1/100, AV 9.0, ISO 100, FEC of -1 3/4 & 2
using the 70-200mm with 68mm tubes.

Did you use a tripod? ISO 200 or 400.

Great sharpness. I might have jumped a little when I saw the pictures, but don't tell anyone.

It might be argued that the second one kinda breaches through the DOF and gets slightly less sharp near the head, but i think these images are just fine. ISO 200 may have helped some, but at what cost? I like them as is.

Excellent shots Dan!! I don' think you need them any sharper!! That zoom obviously works well with extension tubes.........

I believe I said the images were very sharp, the only thing you could have done is a smaller aperture but that wasn't an issue in my post about the shots here. I think they are plenty sharp as posted.

very cool shots .nice n sharp where they need to be
but low depth of field...
try setting your aperture as low as it wil go.. round about the 20's (lower if your lens will allow it)
you'll get much more DOF and will be easier to keep sharp.... you'll need additional light from somewhere tho :) or a slower shutter speed../ higher iso
low depth of field can be cool at times tho.......... draws your eye to the in focus parts............
try going with one less extension tube that you used here (or a smaller one) and include some space in the frames..... (magnification isn't so much, you include a bit of the beesties environment and its a bit easier to keep in focus)
my personal preference is to have the whole critter in focus tho if possible
