Is there a minimum distance you should be to take a picture when using the flash with the Raynox 6600 wide angle converter?

If I move in close to my subject (a person) I believe I get a shadow on the lower part of the picture from the lens converter when I have the flash shooting straight on.

Of course I adjust by moving back. Is this normal?

yes...same thing happens when you take a macro shot 10cm from the camera using the built in flash

No problem, bounce the flash off the ceiling.

Your images will look better that way, too.
