This was taken on the Oregon coast the other day. That is my friend on the left. I am a brand new photographer with an S2 IS, and appreciate constructive criticism.

I know that one image doesn't line perfectly, but if the image looks okay I may try a better seam with photoshop. Is it worth it?

Nice first attempt, sure beats the first one I did. You are right, the image does not line up perfectly, this has been highlighted by not using Manual settings, therefore, your camera has metred each picture individually, creating slight differences in each 'frame'. This however, can be used to produce a montage effect on a large picture.

Next time, try metering on a mid tone and setting your cameras f stop and speed manually.

Oregon looks like a real nice place to visit.

Interesting! you've got a couple of frames with the same problem I get - one edge slightly darker than the other, in your case it's the right hand edge. Anyone know how to beat this effect?
otherwise it's pretty neat.

You can get rid of this darkening using photoshop filtering..

choose manual exposure when metering for the shots and voila all exposures will be the same

Yep, manual exposure is almost always the way to go.

However, some lenses might have an issue, too. My Canon 70-200 f/2.8 L looks blurry on the left side compared to the right side. When blending I have to overlap a little more than normal and then blend so that the good edge covers more of the bad edge.

I had a friend go over it with photoshop (he is much more talented than I). It looks much better now. However, in the future I will definatly use manual mode, I should have thought of that.
