550 vs the 420

i have the canon 10d with a 50mm 1.8 lens. I would like to get a flash unit for it and was wondering what the main difference if any there are between the 420 and 550. i shoot weddings a lot and my partner has the 550. It works great and recycles fast. whats your opinion.

Raymond,

I believe that you have answered your own question here. The 550 is hands down the better all round flash, more power plus more control. If you are going to shoot weddings for money, I would think you would want to have a flash that would do the job in every situation as opposed to having a flash that will only work in ETTL auto mode.
