My new Sigma 24-70

I just received my Sigma 24-70 lens...ggeee...this thing is loud compare to Canon lens..i havent chance to test it ...i will test it this weekend....at the beach (SC girls too...)

I just got mine today too, the focus is pretty noisy after getting used to USM. I put it through its paces for a bit today, wasn't overly impressed or dissapointed with it. I think I've been completly spoiled by my prime lenses.

I don't particularly care about the noise it makes focusing. All I care about is that it takes awesome pictures.

I got mine two weeks back & havent used it much. But from whatever I have seen till now - I am very happy with lens. Dont care much about the noise as long as AF locks properly :-)

I read somewhere that the noise diminishes significantly as the lens becomes more used.

It's about as good optically as any standard zoom, period. The AF noise will become less and less an issue as you use it; no worse noise than the infamous "wasp in a matchbox" Canon 35 f2. Regardless, here's one shot taken with the 24-70EX:

i dont mind my AF noise at all. it takes such great pics, that doesnt even cross my mind.

I actually like the noise ... it gives good feedback and AF is fast and accurate. I just got a 100-400 IS L USM which is totally silent but feels slower, tho' it is much longer. I miss the obvious feedback.
