That's a real BEAUTY inside and out. I think that body design was way ahead of it's time. :D

You've got that right Bruce. I once had a '57 Silver Hawk. I'd like to have that one back.

Airdale, those are gorgeous photos.

Thanks all, it's too bad you couldn't be there. It sounded just as good as it looked.

The leather is calfskin and the darker brown portion is ostrich.

thanks Airedale

I never thought about or knew Ostrich skin could be used
(thought they ran too fast to strip them )

maybe they are stripped while their heads are stuck in the sand

it just never entered my head
so very interesting now that you mention it
Bruce will be interested
(when he gets up);)

very glad to see on the other post that you liked the film 'the quiet man'

I was often at the place where it was filmed
old house there and a souvenir shop, with wonderful hand knitted items etc etc, right in the middle of Connemara in County Galway
it's a magnificent beauty spot in the centre of glorious mountains and wild scenery.
truly a beautiful part of the country
hope you get to see it someday
and be sure to visit Clifton further on

My first car was a 1955 Champion. It sure did not look like that. Lovely car and lovely images. With that engine I'll bet it is very easy to get arrested in short order!
