hi!
Anyone here had experience linking a studio monolight with G1 via a flash sync adaptor on the camera's hotshoe and a sync cord? any problems with exposure?

Yep, I do it all the time, mostly for portraits but I've also done a number of small objects too. Works great.
My local shop told me to get a hotshoe to PC adaptor that has a spike protector. This sounds like a decent idea but I ignored it. I'm using a cheap Kalt adaptor that I got something like 10 years ago.
I find the ISO ratings are way off base though. What I meter and what I set the camera to are completely different. I find the camera to be at least 1.5 stops faster than the meter reading.
