ANNOUNCE: PictureToTV 1.4.1

Platform: Win98/ME/2K/XP

PictureToTV (http://www.picturetotv.com/) lets you create photo CD with transition effects & music, viewable on your TV through your DVD
player. An unlimited-time trial is available for download.

What's NEW in this version:
1. Menu Editor
Menu templates are now a lot more flexible:
You can choose not to use menu. Your albums will play one after another when you play your (S)VCD.
You can customize the font/color of your album labels & numbers.
You can customize the visibility of different elements on the menu.
You can position all items on the menu arbitrarily.
You can add text anywhere on your menu.
Album thumbnails on menu can maintain original aspect ratio.

2. Improved CD Burning Engine
More CD burners are now supported.

3. New transition effects
We've added 4 new transition effects to this release. Check out the OldFilm effect; it gives your slideshow the old movies feel.

4. Synchronized playback during preview
We've added synchronized playback to the slideshow preview. When synchronized playback is activated, the timing of the slideshow will be the same as what you'll finally get on your DVD player.

Other COOL features:
1. Text annotation
You can add text ANYWHERE in ANY FONT on your photos.

2. Cropping
You can now select a 4:3 rectangular section of your photo for display on TV. This allows portrait photos to be displayed maximally on TV by selecting a subsection.

3. Store Original Photos on CD
You can save the original photos on the same CD, so that you can access them on your PC, and play on your DVD player at the same time.

4. Drag & Drop interface.
The user interface is very easy - a novice would have no problems learning the software without reading the user manual at all.

I am curious if anyone has tried this or has a recommendation for similar software.

Thanks,
Doug.

There are a number of ways to do this, from the very basic slide show using freeware such as VCDEasy (which is what I do), to elaborate menus, soundtracks, etc. Check out the link below for some ideas and recommendations. I'm sure there are lots of other programs out there, don't take this as any sort of definitive list. Depends on how much you're willing to spend and how fancy you want to get.

PictureToTV is nowhere near ULead's DVD Picture Show. Tried PictureToTV's trial version and it simply sucks. Adding just one simple transition makes the end product fuzzy, blurry and yukky.
