I think it's a great shot. The light coming between the curtains is a little distracting, so maybe some judicious use of the clone tool would be good, and for me, the colour temperature is a little cold, but other than that, it's great!

Goatee I agree!
A little PS tender loving care is all this needs. Great capture.
Try to darkin up the backround so it won't be so distracting and frame it.
It's a keeper!

How's this? I know I didn't get rid off the light between the curtains - having real trouble using the clone tool and making it look realistic.

Perhaps not very easy using the clone tool on that one. You might find it easier to use the paint brush using a single colour all over where the curtains and window are. It's definitely a lovely portrait of a cute little girl and well worth spending some time on.

Thanks Snapman,
P.S.
This is actually my 12 month old baby girl - all that hair makes her look older.

Looks like a candle lit on top of head -- tone the light down in background for a most noticable improvement -- PS -- like it alot...

Hope you don't mind, but here was my quick shot at cloning out the light.
She looks so old! My son is 16 months old, but her hair makes her look more like 2! You must be very proud :)

That's a spot on critique.
Instead of cloning the window out, consider filling it with a solid color the same as the curtains on either side. It might look a little fake, so consider using the gradient too perhaps.

Brightening up the face was all that was needed as a final touch - this is now an excellent photo of a lovely little girl.:D
