This shoot was a lot of fun and security was a lot cooler than I expected ;)

I love the shot near the Iron Building. The whole series is very good!

My thoughts:

#1: This is my favorite shot. Very nicely done!
#2: Subjects kinda get lost in the mix.
#3: Not sure where they were looking. Definitely not at the camera.
#4: Not sure I like the processing with the glow. Otherwise a decent shot.
#5: Subjects kinda get lost in the mix again.
#6: I think they could have been a little bit closer.
#7: Not sure I like the placement of the building over their heads, but a nice shot.

Thanks for the comments everybody :) It was my first time in NYC taking pics of people. Kinda nerve racking with all the action and what not, but the architecture is just amazing!!

Best,
Jay

Yup.
Nick and I seem to think very similar.

Sure do, but what always shocks me more than anything is what the customer actual likes ;) It's never the shots I think they will pick. For example, in the above images they actually liked 4 and 5 the best?

Thanks for the comments Everybody :)

It really depends on what you want to get out of posting images here. Do you want C & C from fellow photographers? Further, do you only want supportive comments, which usually is the case in here, or do you want honest non-sugar-coated C & C? Or do you want us to tell you what we think the customers will think of your photos? Completely different things...

I am sure the customer will like these, despite the C & C given. :)

*LOL* The customers have no taste ;)

Number one is epic

They like number 4 because it has a romantic feel and maybe the location is special to them.
#5 I have no clue. His hand position is odd and she look awkward. Go Figure !!

Nice series and processing.

I love C&C and always appreciate it. However, sometimes comments come across a bit pompous, even though they are clearly not meant that way ;)

The not looking at the camera comment is the 1 that stuck out as odd? Obviously I didn't want them looking at the camera for that particular shot? The comment insinuates that looking at the camera would have been correct. I don't agree, but appreciate the feedback. All the other comments are well received and I appreciate them.

Your Portfolio is looking pretty good as well ;)

Best,
Jay

The comment about them not looking at the camera was made b/c the photo looks odd, not because there's some kind of rule that implies the subjects need to look at the camera. That's hardly the case. In that particular photo, it looks like someone else was taking the picture and you happened to be taking it too as a bystander. Just my opinion of course and as you already mentioned, you like the photo and ultimately that's what counts. :D
