So I ordered a 58mm polarizer for the XT kit lens, which says it's 58mm on the front of the lens. The polarizer came, and I have no idea what to do with it. There's no obvious attachment device and the polarizer is the exact same size as the lens, which makes me think I also should have ordered some sort of attaching thing.
Sorry for the dumb question, but I'm having trouble finding anything via google.

If it’s a threaded filter you just screw it into the threads on the front of the lens, if it is a plastic square filter you need the adaptor.

You'll notice that the glass part of the filter rotates on the part with the external threads. After you setup your shot, you will want to rotate the filter to get the effect you desire.
Since the front element of that lens rotates as you zoom or focus, you'll need to adjust the zoom and focus before you adjust the polarizer, being careful not to rotate the lens as you do so.
It only takes 3 or 4 hands.;)
