Voting:

Following each closing date, there will be two or three weeks of voting. The exact length will be a practical decision based on the number of photos.
Given the large number of expected entries, I’ll adopt the same voting method as the last POTN POY contest. The photos will be grouped into sets of approximately 10. The winner of each group will be put forward into a play off. A third or fourth round of voting will be used if there are a sufficient number of entries.

I realise that this question should have been asked earlier but what do we define as wildlife for this category?

1: True wildlife photos shot out in the nature?
2: Photos of wildlife in the nature or in captivity but photographed in a way it is not visible that the animal is kept captive? (which several of the photos clearly is).

In my opinion it should have been #1 but we can't change that now so I guess it is #2 definition that applies?

Thanks for raising this tommy. In all honesty it is not an issue that I had considered. I think I can see why you have raised it, because photographing tiger in the 'wild' brings in a whole different set of skills that you wouldn't need in a zoo - survival for example

My general approach with all these competitions is to, as far as possible, leave the definition of the topic up to the photographer.

I should add that I don't think you should necessairily hold yourself to #2. Just off the top of my head, people might want to show the bars of the cage in order to demonstrate the impact that captivity has on wild animals. I'm sure there are lots of other possibilites as well.
