Well, I just slammed another image for cutting the top of the head off, so what can I say here. For some reason, it doesn't bother me in this picture. Explain that!
But you're right, it is great!

Robert, have a read of this (http://www.acdsystems.com/English/Community/ColumnsArticles/PhotoTips/photo-2005-08-21.htm).
Mano, I like it but it seems a little out of focus to me.

The image as posted (only about 400,000 pixels present) doesn't give me enough detail to tell whether it's in focus or not, but in any case, it does not give me the sense of being out of focus. In other words, for the subject and the lighting, I feel a degree of softness that I am comfortable with.
Each to his own!

Tim, interesting reading... to me, not much new really, except the 'Gestalt'. Which I intend to sniff about on amazon and the local library...
As for the picture here.. I'd crop out just a bit of the empty space to the left, otherwise looks really good to me.

I like it. It's soft but it works and the framing is right on. Light is very good. I like the empty space on the left as it gives room for the viewer to follow the gaze of the subject. Leading the direction of travel in video isn't much different IMO. It works.

Dear Tim,
On first reading of your post I did not realize the word "here" was a link - so I missed out entirely and was a bit confused as to what you meant. (Got to get new glasses!)
Now that I discovered the link and had a quick read of it, I see clearly why you referenced it, and I see your point.
Thanks!
