Accident

happened across this accident near my job this morning. A car backed up and hit a woman crossing the street. she was injured but alive.

Gee, if Scott had seen this he would have been leaning over the white car shooting. :-) "Backing up" and hit her! Was she in a cross walk or j-walking? From the pictures it looks as though she was in the middle of the block ... not a good place to cross the street under the best of circumstances. Are the barriers in the last image from your job site?

i dont know. lots of people jay walk, so i guess neither one of them were looking. and yes, those barriers are a part of the job site. i was actually on my way to check on the blasting when i saw the ambulances and crowd.

Well, jaywalking is illegal for just this reason even if half the population still does it whereas backing up in the street is probably legal. Unfortunate in either case, of course. So, what's the next step at the job site?
