I'm not keen on the power lines to be honest as I like to see more natural environments, but thats just a personal taste thing. The shots are excellent, I prefer the 1st but both are wonderful. A beautiful bird. GJ

Excellent and I believe you are right when you say, "I caught this guy ......" I would say it's an adult male. An adult female Red-tail would be much larger.

Super shot here and wonderful exposure and sharpness not to mention the nice blue sky here also. Now get this one to pose on a branch of a old dead tree.

Great shots. You were lucky to have one stay still for so long. Did you use your car for a blind?

Awesome shots, nice and clear. Great eyes and talons! The wires don't bother me at all. I swear I think if it wasn't for power lines and electrical towers we would hardly see 'tails perched! So be thankful all for power lines, telephone poles and towers! I've walked right under one that was maybe 15-20' off the ground and it didn't even seem concerned. Of course I got shots with my old camera, not this one. Yet.

Ditto on all the comments. These guys fear humans badly, so getting close is quite the challenge!
Nice details and great capture.

Thanks all for the nice comments..
Yes.. I'd rather get one in the trees, but I can't be choosy :)
I did use my car as a blind.. Any attempt to get out and it would have flown away..
