Install Questions for EE

On my website I'm currently running pnpBB and need to know if this will work OK with EE. Also, will I need another MSQL database or will the EE and pnpBB work with the same one? Sorry if these are simple questions, but I'm new to the pnp world and still learning.

Yes you can install EE with some other app into same database provided that other all handles only its own tables. It you have a possibility to set up a separate database for each app it would be good for speed and backup reasons.
