Has anyone had any sucess using a 540EZ with the D60?
What will work and not work?
A 550EX is not in my budget right now.

My only other flash is a 380EX.

I need to use it to shoot drag races at night under poor lighting.

I am guessing the only way this will work is to manually expose and test exposure with full output from the flash.

You are correct! You can only use the 540EZ in manual with the D60. I've used the 540EZ with the 1D and had excellent results in manual when most of the shots were taken under the same lighting conditions.

The 380EX will work ETTL but it doesn't have the output of the 540.

Thanks Cal. I am going to give it a shot. Based on previous experience shooting film, I am going to start with a 50mm, F1.8 @ 1/200th with a full burst from the 540EZ. I doubt I will blow out the shot. But if so I can move up a stop.

I will have numerous passes to dial in the exposure before the big boys take to the track.

Of course I will be shooting in RAW mode, so I will have some lattitude there as well. Hopefully.

Thanks again.
