1. resize your photo to size that is less than 800x800 pixels and save it as JPEG which is less than 100KB in size (alter compression level when saving, or a make smaller image). Do NOT save it over the original, but with a different name.
2. Test image attaching with your post above:
click "edit"
click "go advanced"
click "manage attachments"
click "browse"
a file browser opens: browse to you resized JPEG photo, select it and click "ok"
click "upload"
click "close this window"
click "save changes"
If the attachment does not show, it may be too big in size.

use Pekkas advice for uploading to this site using attachments,
i don't want to confuse you - but if you're wanting to upload your photos so you can link them (show) to anyone, heres a 'how to' i made a few months back for another forum
--
In this post, i will show those of you who don't know how to host images, exactly how to.
It's quite simple if you know how.
There are quite a few ways to upload images on the internet. some of them are:
Using your own webspace - Be it free space provided by your internet provider or paid up for lots of space and features.
Uploading straight to a website/forum you want to display it.
Or using a image hosting website.
The easiest and more efficient for people who are green thumbed with the internet would be an Image hosting website.
The 2 i'll show you today are www.photobucket.com and www.imageshack.us
These 2 are possibly the most popular, and for good reason. they are easy and fast to use.
First, we'll look at www.imageshack.us
How To:
Go to www.imageshack.us - Select browse and find an image that you want to upload. Select that image and press OK/Open. Then press the "Host it!" button. After a short while (depending on your image size), you will see a number of boxes with links to your image. Depending on your use for the image, select any one of those links.
Here is what it would look like once your image is uploaded.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v201/chevs_n_holdens/ImageShackLnks.jpg
You may upload as many images as you like, as long as each of them is less than 1024kb in size. If your image is greater than 1024kb in size, it will be resized automatically. You may upload .jpg, .jpeg, .gif, .bmp, .tif, .swf, and .png image types. bmp, tif, and tiff images will be converted to .png automatically.
Bad Points:
Image Shack doesn't keep a gallery of your images, so if you forget the link, you may not be able to find it again.
Image Shack will only upload 1 image at a time.
Good Points:
Image Shack will upload any image upto 1024kb in size.
Image Shack DOES NOT require you to register or sign in to upload images.
Now, we'll look at www.photobucket.com
Go to www.photobucket.com - click 'sign up free' (Next to the red star). Fill in the appropriate fields, be sure to check both 'account options' so you can have codes and an album. - If asked, you want the 'free' account :) - after filling it all out and logging in, you will come to this screen
[img]http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v201/chevs_n_holdens/Untitled-1copy.jpg[img]
simply browse your image and upload, then you'll see this.
[img]http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v201/chevs_n_holdens/PhotobucketImg.jpg
Then you can create sub folders and all sorts of things.
Bad Points:
Photobucket will only allow a maximum of 200kb uploads.
Photobucket requires you to register (free) to upload images.
Good points:
Photobucket lets you always come back and view your images, you can log in and see every image you've uploaded, i personally have 2 albums and about 100 images.
Photobucket can let you create private or public albums for everyone to view - meaning you can make a full gallery of all your photos from a cruise or event and share them with everyone
With Photobucket, if you select (tick the little boxes) the photos you want to put in a post, and click down the bottom "Generate HTML and IMG code", you will get 4 options to copy paste, each of them include every pic you have selected, now.. if you select "IMG clickable thumbnails for message boards - recommended" -
you will come up with nice little thumbnails like this:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v201/chevs_n_holdens/th_blah002processed.jpg (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v201/chevs_n_holdens/blah002processed.jpg)
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v201/chevs_n_holdens/th_tsunami_05_083b.jpg (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v201/chevs_n_holdens/tsunami_05_083b.jpg)
if you click on those thumbnails, it will give you the full image in another window, this is tha great feature for other forums not associated with the finer details of photography - or when posting a large number of photos at a time.
I prefer photobucket!
To get a tad technical, you can use this layout here to make a Linked text (ie: "click here") for your image. LINKABLE TEXT HERE (DIRECT LINK GOES HERE NO SPACES)
Thank you for reading, i hope i helped. happy uploading!

apologys for the reference to "CCC", in most cases it will apply for "POTN" instead.

if your photos are the right file size, and resolution as Pekka said, you DON'T need to set up your computer for anything.
you don't need FTP or any of the other stuff you would if you had paid webspace..
just goto the website you want to load your photos onto, and click 'browse'. find your image and click open and/or upload.

When you click reply, or open a new message,
you have to look for Manage Attachments, then find the edited photo you've made, under 100kb.
And then submit it. It will then transfer the file from your PC to the servers, which could take up to 30 seconds on your PC.
There is nothing in Windows Help, which will be relevant to this. It's a forum function, via website, rather than an individual PC.

I tried all the above , but file browser opens, I selected it , said only open, I click open
there is no "ok" to click. I click "upload" does not work
Very frustrating for an old man

If the picture is larger then 800X800 PPI and/or larger then 100KB it will not upload. You would need to resize the picture in order to upload. If it in fact was uploaded you'll see the file just below the two browse buttons, then the files have been uploaded. Just close the window and look below your comment and you'll find the file name below it. Good Luck. See Attach Image.:D :D :D

I did all of that ,my file is 84.26 KB , , it's 134 x91 PPi Thanks Lostdoggy, something else is not right. I see that you purchased a Feisol tripod what model? I ordered a 3402 today it was on back order untill today. I like the 17" fold up size, easly fits in my suit case.
I wish I could upload a picture or too. I do not know what to do next!

Most ISP's give you webspace for free with your account. I suggest you use that as well. I have about 60MB of space for some resized images. Usually more reliable than public photo galleries which tend to sometimes be slow due to the load on the servers that hold these images.

well, first you can stop typing in CAP LOCKS. it's considered as yelling in the internet world. and also, please type full words, it's easier to read.
http://consumer.usa.canon.com/ir/controller?act=ConsumerHomePageAct
^ this link should have the drivers for your camera.
you can also use a memory card and a usb card reader to get your pictures from the camera to the computer.
