OK...share a picture, share a thought, share your new gear or even your classics...seek advice or feel free to offer some...not a competition...not a test...you don't need an L....but don't be a pest....check your attitude and ego at the door!:p If your here for fun...come on in....if you're here to stir up trouble, go darken another door. Wow! I've had the History channel going in the background all day for some reason and Top Gear is on (I've never watched it). They just had a segment on the Mitsubishi Evo (Evolution) where they were testing out its snow performance by the guy racing down a snowy mountain road to meet two skilled mountain skiers to a "finish" place down the mountain -- and this guy had to speed through some really deep snow to get to the end and WOW!!! That car is a masterpiece for that type of thing! I'd never even heard of it!

Hey look new digs!!
Still on the Family History kick. Found one of my convicts on a prison hulk in London before he was transported here. Not too sure yet but it look like he spent about 4yrs on it before he was transported. Must have been a horrible time from what I remember studying at school.
Talking to a workmate who only immigrated from England a year or two ago about this last week. With the Ashes Cricket on there is extra rivalry between us and the Poms so he started singing "You all live in a Convict Colony....." I said "And proud of it!" This sort of thing is typical of the English fans (called the Barmy Army) at the Cricket, helps to make a entertaining day of it.
Of a photography nature here's a shot of my GG Grandfather Arthur Senyard. His parents and two other families chartered a ship to come here in 1870, must of had some cash to do this. Been looking at ways to easily store info in the photo, I'm leaning towards IPTC. It's a bit different from what I normally deal with ie I store the info in a external DB. Here I want the info to be in the files if possible.
This is a black-and-white photograph of a Cobb and Co coach in Yuleba, Queensland, taken in 1909 or 1910, fully laden with passengers and mail. It shows Arthur Senyard, manager of the Cobb and Co depot at Yuleba, at the left of the photograph, and Sergeant Joyce, the Yuleba Police Sergeant, at the right of the photograph. The coach driver, Alf Jensen, is shown holding the reins.

Evening tupperware gang!
Aye, what a weekend!
Littlest is sick, has a cough and the runs. Screams bloody murder every time he goes to the bathroom cause his rear end is bright red.
Started putting up Christmas lights yesterday, had to mow the grass first (lawn equipment does NOT like cold weather). Got the bushes done, then it started sleeting, then rained so had to finish today. 1 out of 9 strands of lights worked completely, the rest had to have bulbs tracked down and repaired. What a pain in the rear. These things are only 3 years old, and they twinkle, so why don't they last longer than that?
Got some pics of the kids last night for our Christmas cards and got those ordered. Wanted to do it during the day for some extra window light, but it was rainy and dark.
Tonight I tried to find out what is wrong with our shower upstairs. Turn on the hot water and you get nothing. Appears to be the cartridge so I tried to take it out and figure out the part number. Pinched my finger pretty bad in some pliers, got a big nasty blood blister now. Got the cartridge out, found the supposed part number, tried to put it back in so we can have water and the damn thing leaks now. So the water is off in the house until we the morning when we can take our showers, then it goes back to off until I can fix it tomorrow night (assuming I can find the part!!!). I hate plumbing!
Not looking forward to tomorrow. :(

Houses built to code are supposed to have an access panel for showers and tubs....with shutoffs. Sometimes they do something fancy like placing them in a linen closet in the bath.

At the bare minimum, you should find a shutoff for the toilets located right at the wall, the sinks should have shutoffs for both hot and cold located underneath, the dishwasher should have a separate shutoff located under the kitchen sink and there should be separate shutoffs for the washing machine located at either a laundry sink or on the wall directly adjacent to the laundry drain. Also, you should have a shutoff on each side of the hot water heater, one on each side of any water filtration system you might have and a master shutoff located where your water enters the dwelling. If you have outside faucets, there should also be shutoffs on those lines, in an area that is not effected by freezing.

Nice prop blur as always. :)
Kind of like fish in a barrel when they're sitting still but it does add a nice touch I think... :D
I so wish I could afford to own a Skyhawk. They're such nice, simple airplanes!
This one was easier, no (externally) moving parts!

Thanks Tony... L-29s aren't all that common so it was nice to have this one drop in.
I think I found an easier way to accomplish prop blur:

My Di Modell Chronissimo watch strap arrived today. I think it really suits this watch well. It's made of two different types of calf skin leather, the inner one being very soft. Very comfortable.

Morning folks.
Sorry about your woes Mike. Hope all is better soon.
I have an older home and most of my fixtures except for the shower had shut-off valves at or near the faucet. I recently finished remodeling one bath and not that problem has been remedied.
Nice birds Jay.

Got to work late this morning. Had to wait for the dishwasher to finish so I could turn the water off and take the cartridge back out. Hopefully I can get a replacement at Lowes or HD today at lunch!
This is a brand new house that was built to code, as was my last house. Showers, tubs, and outside faucets do not require shut offs, only sinks, toilets, dishwashers, washing machine has taps on the wall. Water heaters have shut offs on cold water input and there is a shut off at the water meter.

Hi Mike. What was up with the dishwasher?
Dishwasher's OK (although a little loud and sometimes whistles). My upstairs shower has no hot water though. I'm trying to replace the cartridge inside the valve and have run into a couple of snags. In order to work on it I have to turn off the water to the entire house. Pain in the rump!

So, dusted off the Canon 9000 today for the first time in probably three months and ran some prints off Lightroom and CS5 with the now re-animated computer.
- Color Match seems ok (Spyder Calibrated)
- Contrast is pretty good but prints off this system have always been a little "dense."
- Sharpening "looks" a bit stronger for some reason
Feels good to be slinging ink again! :D

That way, people can choose their own favorite size via MPix and still have the "look" intact.

I'm not old enough to know Don, although the name rings a bell. Some of the other guys you mentioned were great though. The problem is they got old and slow. They missed so much of what was going on at the end of their careers, but at least they were good at some point. The majority of the guys that do the non-national games flat out suck!!! They were big dumb football players and now they are big dumb announcers. Some of the national guys aren't bad. I actually loved Thiesmann, Patrick, and McGuire. Kornheiser and Dennis Miller WERE TERRIBLE!!!
Woolburr

Kornheiser and Dennis Miller were total idiots. Chris Collinsworth is a tool....hard to believe he ever played the game. Al Michaels is one of the few remaining decent announcers. I have to turn the sound off if Brent Mushmouth is doing commentary.

What really sucks is that Kirk Herbstreit gets stuck with him doing the Saturday night college games. I like Kirk, but can't stand Brent. Another guy that is too old and misses way too much of the game.
