Hi, After almost 10 years of film photography I'm going to buy a Canon 10D. I want to know if there is a delay between shot and shot at RAW format (how big is the file size?, the image bank wich I work with accepts 9MB TIFF images or bigger).
Also if there is a delay between shots, how long it is?, does it depend on wich CF card am I using?? Wich one is the fastest in the market today?
Does this camera come with a shock absorbing mechanism for the mirror shake like the Eos 1N?
I shot birds with a canon 500mmL USM IS Lens and I'm worried about blurry images at 1/30 or 1/60 of speed.

Thanks,

Pablo.

Pablo,

The 10D will take 9 shots on the bounce at 3 fps. It does do this - I've tested it as best I can - but I guess the rate will fall off slightly with slower shutter speeds.

After this the primary buffer is full and the rate slows to about 1 frame every couple of seconds for another 5/6 frames. Then I assume both buffers are full and space has to be cleared before another shot can be taken. This seems to be around 1 frame every 5 seconds.

If you check my site, there's a 10D Links page that mentions a CF performance database that gives comparative performance figures.

Can't tell you if the mirror has a damper, there is an option for mirror lock-up.
