Found this little scene whilst truck hunting...
Regal Jumping Spider, Phidippus regius, feeding on an, Assassin Bug, Zelus longipes...

nice to see the assasin bug getting it in the neck....
i love the way you can just see the spidas eyes peering out in the 2n'd shot.....
these make me smile :)

Great shots, Very sharp, looks like the spider turned the tables on the assasin bug.

Almo it's just not safe out there anywhere you go, just when you think you are the tough kid on the block a new bully shows up and your history. The shots are not perfect but they do show nicely how life works on this scale here.

Cool, with my two spider vs assassin bug shots and yours the score is now Spiders 2, Assassin bugs 1.

I found out a VERY interesting thing about jumping spiders today.......... they can move the lens element of their 2 BIG eyes inside their heads to keep their prey centred on the retina..........
and Canon thought THEY invented image stabilisation :)
no matter what man invents............ nature got there 1st about a million years ago

Nice job Almo, my favorite too is the first one, the second photo gives us an idea on what happened next.
