Found this little guy clinging (actually hatching) to my son's tent. Needless to say he did not want to go near it! LOL I used the macro feature on my 28-135mm Canon lens. I got other shots of him hatching (which I can share if you like), but like the composition on this one the best.

Fantastic shots. I too like the 3rd one the most, while they all great. I have yet to capture a hatching cicada (only if I could wait up early in the morning:confused:  )

Great shots. They bring back childhood memories when we would catch "locusts" (didn't know they were cicadas untill many years later). We would get several and let them attach to the screen door. Where I lived then (Texas panhandle) there were two varities. The common brown ones, that looked golden when still wet and the much rarer green ones which are like your photos. I always thought that blue green hue was just gorgeous. Thanks for sharing.

Fantastic series of captures, pitty it's on a screen istead of a tree but still good shots showing alot about the life cycle. Wonderful
