Thanks Becky, sorry (?) you didn't get snow, lol. We could use some here...apparently the SOUTH (NC area) has been getting kind of hammered and we've seen nary a flake. The kids are rather anxious, lol. Guess in a way I am too...they play outside till they're numb and then sleep soooooooooooo well.

Crissa, therapy dogs are so cool. Bet they've done your guys a world of good...do any have allergy issues that prevent them from being able to interact? Trainer friend had a registered therapy Akita until a couple years ago...Isa was really neat...and when Blondie was little we'd go over, Blondie would hang out in the exersaucer thingy and just watch Isa walk back and forth, like a fashion model or something...she'd giggle/squeal and Isa would stop to sniff/lick...made us giggle every time.

We got ice in the mountains but reports from a friend in Raleigh... they have snow this morning... We started out this morning with a 2 hr delay for schools... Then they closed schools... and according to a friend of mine... it's slicker than snot on a doorknob out there... I suppose the jack-knifed big rig on I-40 is proof of that... HAPPY BIRTHDAY JIM!

Thanks for the Anniversary wishes everyone. :)

19 years ago, today, I was a nervous teenager, holding the hand of a man I'd only known for 4 months, and standing in front of a judge in Vegas (no cheezy Elvis for us).
I was a hypoglycemic who hadn't eaten yet that day because I was too nervous, so my blood sugar was all whacky.
As soon as Wade got all serious, and started repeating his vows, I thought that was the funniest thing I'd ever seen (had never seen him serious before that point), and I laughed. Hard. The whole rest of the time. To the point that the judge asked if I was ok, and if this was something I really wanted to do.

Well, Wade married me, even though I laughed my butt off, and even though we had to pawn a set of heirloom china to have enough money for the marriage license.

It's not so bad, as someone once pointed out when you get to a certain age it takes you all night to do what you used to do all night :-)

It's largely an argument of convenience, but the older I get, the more I fall back on the hope that quality is far more important than quantity.

Lois just reminded me that we have an anniversary coming up in about a month. She asked what we were going to do. I told her I was going to try to find a place where they have live, nude mud-wrestling.

Or not.

Maybe we'll just go out to dinner.

We didn't have our 'Wedding' till Feb 15th.

Nice, Cat :) I am glad you laughed your arse off at your own wedding. Totally fits your character (even though I have not even met you!), and makes that day a little more memorable :) Happy Anniversary again!

How is your vacation going?

Not bad. I haven't really done anything yet other than sleep and walk Minnie occasionally. I'm getting all my relaxing in so I'm ready to travel next week.

Beautiful place, where is it? If you said I missed it.

It's alongside Carson Pass in the Sierra Nevada Mountains, next to Silver Lake, about 20 miles south of Lake Tahoe.

I always had the feeling that Horton Plaza was designed by M.C. Escher. You look across the mall and see a store you want to go to.....

To get there, you have to go down two levels, cross to the other side, go up three levels, go back to the other side, go down one level, cross over again, and you're there!

It's a plastic ball that has a battery-powered voice inside that is activated by motion. It's made out of hard plastic and seems pretty tough. We found them at Bed, Bath and Beyond...

Buddy turned up his nose at it, but Wall-e sometimes bats it around the floor. Her favorite toy, though, is one of the other cats...

Ok, this is weird... With this image, using ACR in Bridge CS4, if I use the straighten tool to select the straight line where I colored this in with red:
http://www.ldphotography.net/cdpf2/sample.jpg

Bridge immediately crashes and Win7 comes up with a "Not responding" box. Every time. I even tried rebooting. I can straighten the image by selecting one of the other straight edges, but not that one. It works fine in Bridge CS5, though.

Why in the world would drawing a line with the straighten tool in that exact spot with this one photo cause Bridge CS4 to crash?!?

My dogs would so eat those toys/books scattered around.Yes and no. She goes like MAD when she gets going, and watch OUT when she gets the rips, she'll literally knock you down (the kids head for higher ground) and has no coordination. Yet she's snoring next to me on the couch at the moment while I take a break, and just watches as I go through the house with different stuff that we're purging. I'm grateful, she's only chewed 2 stuffed animals in the time she's been here...and it was the kids' faults as much as Sasha's.

Does anyone else hate being stuck waiting for the phone to ring? Does nothing for my anxiety. :-| At this point, can't wait for the holidays to be over. Were it not for the kids, I think it would get passed over in this house this year.

Nice? Nah... Necessity. I've worked the graveyard shift for almost 27 years now. It only took a couple years for me to realize that most people who called in the middle of the day back then, waking me up, were telemarketers.

It didn't take long for me to find the "off" switch for the phone's ringer and let everyone important to me know there were better ways to reach me...

There have been laws enacted since then to help people like me, but I still find that the people who call me during the daylight hours are those I have no desire to talk to. So, I still keep the phone's ringer turned off out of habit.

Gah, just found out that my Mentor in engineering, back in Newcastle has cancer. Poor chap has had an eye removed (originally eye cancer), but has now spread to his liver. Chemo next week for him. But the guy is still travelling for work and goes in/out of the office, and never told me... Poor chap, excellent guy who rode 16-18 miles each way on a cycle to work. I am in shock.

Giggle I understand that feeling MOST mornings!!!!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY JIM!

Thanks for the Anniversary wishes everyone.

We didn't have our 'Wedding' till Feb 15th.
*giggle*
Congratulations, and glad it happened here.

I can so picture this.

BTW, how old is Marian?:D;)
*giggle*
Let's face it Cat, there are worse things to be in front of a judge for in Las Vegas :-)

But it does look like you got a life sentence
Oh so true!!!
Brings to mind this (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kTyD9pQK07s) video.
OMG That was hilarious!!!!!
HAHAHAHAHA!!! Heather sent Sasha a new toy...she wasn't sure what to think of it at first but can't let it alone now. BTW that isn't Sasha growling in the video....

Bwahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha I love it!!!!
This computer is w/o a sound card. Is it a ball she got? Curious as I'm always looking for something of Kong toughness for Baxter, otherwise it is in pieces within an hour.
I will have to look up what Cooper has that he's yet been able to destroy...

This is IT (http://www.ioffer.com/i/kong-wubba-blue-dog-chew-toy-135402147)... He tore off the fabric covering... I took the small ball away... and the bottom ball is what he can't destroy! He's had it a year!!!

Awww, I get it. LOL! Till a couple of years ago, I didn't trust dogs past my own nose. It still takes me a while to warm up sometimes.

Aww, sweet Zelda. She's a cool pooch.

Describes how we felt this morning, for sure. You know its bad when a normally energetic 7 y/o has no desire to get out of bed.

Awww, neat story.

You have no idea, lol. That's ALL from this morning...it was cleaned up last night. Sasha wore herself out, too.

Yes and no.

((((((((((((((HUGS)))))))))))))))))))

Must be nice. :-S

Yes, that' for sure.

I wish. Jenn saw what happens when she gets loose... :-s Nevermind the fact that she's the biggest weenie in the world...she was on our bed this morning and shivering...climbed under the covers and didn't come out till probably an hour later, lol! Every time we go out to potty, she shivers and wants to come right back inside, lol! That dog is ALL GO GO GO GO GO when she gets loose... and when you FINALLY catch up to her... and get your hand on her collar... She still wants to GO GO GO GO GO and nearly drags you off your feet!

Hi All... Need major positive thoughts for me... I'm applying to be part time faculty at the college where I work... this is a paddling up stream kind of thing... My boss (the department chair) doesn't like me (people who know her tell me that she feels threatened by my ability/knowledge)... SHE has to complete a reference form on me.... SHE will be part of the team that makes the decision... I want this... I SERIOUSLY want this... I applied for this job that i currently hold with the HOPES of moving up into the ranks of Faculty... My boss really doesn't like me... and that worries me that she will do what she can to blockade my getting that position... I meet the PREFERRED requirements for the position... So I'd appreciate any positive thoughts...

With no family to speak of in San Diego, that's pretty much what we've done. No tree, no decorations, no Christmas cards sent and Heather usually work it so other employees can have the day off. It's just like any other day for us...

I am well suited for this... I love teaching... I have experience... I'm really good at what I do... but I also know that my boss has been here since the inception of the program in 1993... I have been told by those around her that she's threatened by me... I want this additional position... not only would it mean so much to me professionally... it would that much and more to my family... It would be a major income boost... I would still retain my full time day job and this would be part time above and beyond... I would be teaching online and hybrid classes... I want this... I'm thinking creatively on ways to show that I"m right for this position...

I have faith in me... but I know all too well how 'old girls club' my boss is... she has people 'spying' on me... I'm not doing anything wrong... and I'm extremely professional so I have nothing to worry about... but I know her dislike of me will weigh in...

She wouldn't do too good here, our temps have dropped again. I do know lots of labs that have somewhat shorter hair that do good in the cold, though they do have that nice undercoat too.
So just as I am starting to understand where everything is on Facebook, they go and move everything......

My theory is...... Teresa opened a Facebook account last week. She has been tidying the place up.

Nice? Nah...

:lol:If I don't know the number I generally don't answer. Oh and I rarely check messages anymore:lol: So if you are trying to reach me someplace other than text, email, potn, or FB, you are out of luck.

Nice Pics everyone ..Zane your horses look great! Thanks

I gotta wait for Verizon to come over tomorrow morning. They never give an estimate time... Only "8-12". Thanks guys for being useless in letting me plan anything in the day!!So go to work in the AM - they won't be there 'til 5 anyhow.

Actually, they made it on schedule with us - and I got the network set up just how I wanted it. Impressed the guy at that, since I had a patch panel all ready and that.

So just as I am starting to understand where everything is on Facebook, they go and move everything......

Thanks for telling the whole world where my sweetie and I are shacking up.  :pWell, since you're married, what's the problem? You did get legally married at least once, didn't you?

*pikes, boarding hooks, muskets, grapplers, cutlasses, blunderbusses,... dang, where did I put the bayonets... gonna need those....*'S OK - I left some along with the Sgian Duhs, dirks, basket-hilted broadswords and claymores. Both plug and ring bayonets. Sized for everything from a Brown Bess to an Enfield.

A couple weeks ago I found an online deal I couldn't refuse, and I bought a Bowie knife with a 10" blade. Not long after it arrived, I damn near cut the tip of my right hand's middle finger off with it...

Two days ago, that same web site had another bargain I couldn't pass up. I wonder what kind of damage I'll be able to do to myself when this crossbow gets here...Better armour-plate the walls or you (or Kitteh) might be doing the damage to the neighbors.

I'm fading too. But, before I curl up with a furkid or three...

Happy Anniversary, C@ and Wadey-Cakes
