I don't get many breaks, usually I work 6 hours straight and steady doing higly physical labor to buses. One of the things I do is I put the ads on the buses. Sounds easy right? Sure is until you multiply that by about 1400 buses and 6 bus barns. But ah it keeps me in physical shape and the pay is pretty good considering its not rocket science.

So here is an unusal bus I photgraphed. This is the only one I know of with blue seats and seats in this configuration. Who knows it might be common in another city but here it is unseen. Infact this bus is part of the Strathcona County fleet (small subburb of Edmonton) which only has about 60 buses.

So here you see three different versions of the same image. First, being B&W, Second being B&W&Blue and the last being the original.

Im sure someone has a comment about this picture. I think it is rather nice, considering its a public bus.

I really like the whole feel to it, I've seen guys putting the ads in the subways before... looks hard especially jumping over the tracks to do it.

That is a great shot, all three vesions work for me.

I don't suppose you got any pictures from the Septtember 1st Centennial event eh?

Yeah I've done the subway before. Nothing in my entire life has scared me as much as hearing a train come down the track, even if its been diverted to the other side in your mind you keep hearing "People make mistakes" and that one mistake was instead of track 1 they are on your track.

I wasn't able to get any pictures of September 1st, was a busy day. The best was last October when they had a 1930's ETS bus in the main barn and although the public can't go in it, I went in it and "Played" bus driver. LOL what a trick it would be driving that bus.

I like the original shot best. Great pics! Somehow though, it seems a bit tilted. Do you have one with perfect symmetry?

Those seats seem much newer than that style bus. The windows remind me of the buses from the 70's. These buses get their seats replaced with newer style?

Those colours really make the shot, the second and original are great!

Yeah it may be a bit tilted. I brought my camera to work but the tripod had to stay at home so I used the collection box which may have not been exactly square to the rest of the box. The tripod would have been great to have, even if left in the company van because I went down an awesome road with a long tunnel that went by great night shots of oil refinaries.

The bus is a 1970's or 1980's GMC but the seats are very unusual for this city because on most buses of the same make there is orange benches instead of nice blue seats.

LOL if I worked in Manhatten I would bring my camera to work too! I'd like to just go to Manhatten some day but frankly cities that large scare me.

Nice shots. I prefer the simplicity of the first two.

I like these a lot - tricky to expose this well, so very nice result! Don't like the blue seats version, but then I very seldom like selective colour. I like the original, and the b+w version.

They're all good, but the first shot really works best for me. The toning and esposure are perfect

This is another shot I took the same day but on a different bus and from the back. This bus was pointing towards an open bay door and I liked how it looked. It sort of is like the bus is driving through the white tunnel at the end of life or something. Anyways I like this one also.

Those are really, really, interesting pictures, I'd definately have one of those framed at all times, change it around once in awhile for a new look. I like your eye for the detail in noticing the shot inside the bus. Was it one of those moments where you recognized it would be a great picture, because of the seating & look, or did you stumble across it. To me, its recoginizing the picture before you even took it (stumbled on or deliberate). In fact, I like every single shot, including the ones where you added the color. I know a lot of people dont like color, but to me there are certain images (and how you used these) makes me like the color as well. tim

I didn't stumble across it, but when I saw it I automatically said to myself "Yup this is the bus to take pictures of" and thankfully I had my camera on me that day. Its sort of funny but because the way the seats are arranged it looks a lot wider then it actually is. I took these with Powershot A85 (an amazing camera).

The second picture I really didn't plan but when I saw how the light looked I knew exactly what I wanted to do with it. I first put the camera off to the side but that looked terrible so then I placed it on the very back of the seat and took a 8 second picture and it created the result I wanted. I am only able to take pictures at work when I work alone and it just happens that I work alone tomorrow so there may be a "Me on my break... Part II" assuming I don't drop the camera or something. ;)

The first one reminds me of say some kind of alien space craft outside the bus with the bright beaming lights comming in the windows.

The second one looks cool too.. I liek the contrast of the seat colours on the B&W.
