I have questions on the software used for 20D, I do not know which section to post this, I hope it's fine to post it here.
I tried to install EOS Digital Solution ver9.1, it gives me error "1628:setup does not complete". However if I click ok, it continues to install and it seems ok at the end (??). Then I connect my camera, I does see the small icon appears in the task bar. However there is no upload utility appears on the screen? Does anyone know how to solve this. Now I need to manually copy the images into my harddrive. I am using window XP by the way. If anyone has this problem before please let me know how to solve it, I tried to turn off all the spyware softwares still does not help, and there is no help site in canon homepage.
Also, I have roughly looked at the EOS Viewer Utility, I do not quite like the software, does anyone use other software that you think it's better, please recommend. It seems that it does not automatically create folders named with date when uploading the pictures, is that true? If so, it is kind of troublesome to create folder everytime I need to upload pictures.
If you think you have a good way to upload your pictures to your pc, please share with me.
Thankyou.

A CompactFlash card reader is probably the fastest and easiest way to get your pictures onto your computer. The camera's USB cable is slow, drains the camera's batteries (unless you have the expensive AC adapter, which is probably useful if you have a studio, but if you tend to shoot away from AC power is probably something you won't use much) and I found that I couldn't access RAW files on the camera when I'd shot RAW + JPEG.

In case anyone wonders why I shoot RAW + JPEG, I have Resco Photo Viewer on my iPAQ hx4700. This means I can preview pictures on a 640x480 screen - but only if they're JPEG. The only RAW formats the Resco software understands are those that have an embedded JPEG. I therefore shoot RAW + small fine JPEG.

I too would use a card reader. The only time I have ever hooked the camera to the computer was to change the camera name. To download your pictures, open the File Viewer Utility or Zoombrowser. Click on import and choose the camera. The download does not start automatically as some do in XP.
