Multi-CD backup software

Say you have 2GB card and you want to save all the photos in one go, meaning the s/w will ask you to insert another CD when the first is full. Which free software can do that. Free is important as I will be downloading it to a semi-public PC.

I know this is not a one-step-do-everything solution but You could do following.

- with the unregistered version of WinRAR make a RAR archive split into volumes with the size of a cd
- use the normal cd-burning software on the pc (I assume that the pc would have software to burn a cd if the pc is equipped with a burner)

Sorry I don't know any free cd burner applications. I use Nero.

What does that function called. It's as you said, if the PC has a burner then it will have a s/w for that (pardon the stupid question :o ).

The most popular burn software is Nero.

What the program is called can vary a lot and truthfully I only know Nero :-(

I did a quick search on www.tucows.com with the words "cd burn" and there are many applications that can burn cd's.

This one is shareware so it would need registration after a certain time but it looks like it can be used to burn 15 cd's and that should be enough if You only have one 2 GB card to burn

Muli session is something different.

Normally when you burn a CD the CD is "closed" when ompleted.. meaning that even if you only put 25MB on a 700MB CD-R.. the disk is closed and no more data can be added.

Closing a CD can be a good theng as it maximizes compatibility with other machines.

Multisession means you can add more stuff, the disk is not closed, and (I think) you can even use different burning formats...

Multi-session means that data has been burned to a CD more than once with each occurrence making up a session. Sessions can be set up so that each session adds to the previous session or completely replaces all the data of the previous session(s).
