wavy edges on the A70

Hi,

I just got a Canon powershot A70. I am noticing edges of the door or windows or walls are wavy. I have tried different resolutions and am getting the same. Is this a defect in the camera?

I'm getting the same result. It is more prominent for vertical lines (buildings, trees which appear to be curving inwards.

Seeing as how the A70 is a reasonably new model I think it might be a good idea to look into a fix to upload to the camera from the Canon site.

could you please post a critique-quality copy of your photos exhibiting this problem? Is it really that consistent? Have you owned other canon models?

check your settings if your camera is set to Superfine mode. it is quite common thing that people tend to forget that even if they use the LARGE resolution, they haven't set the camera in SUPERFINE mode.
