Canon EF 2x III Images

Looks like my 70-200 f2.8L IS II USM 2x III combo was back focusing a bit, after a bit of MA (-4) looks like the 2x III is really showing its colours. As always Flickr does not really do PQ justice.

The lens does look a little soft at f5.6 but razor sharp at f7.1 :cool:

You know, I was thiiiis close to contemplating whether I wanted a longer zoom than the 70-200, as I worried about possible image degradation with a teleconverter. I take it all back, you've sold me.

Please keep them rolling-in guys... I'm thinking of turning in my 1.4x mII for the 2x mIII. Very helpful & would really appreciate lower f-stop shots!

while you're at it, would someone care to post a comparison pic of an image captured with your lens with the 2xExt II and same with 2xExt III? Can't imagine the quality is so far superior to upgrade.

Hmmm...Was debating adding a 100-400 or a 400 5.6 for an upcoming trip to Yellowstone (for starters), but maybe my 70-200 2.8 II will be just fine w/the 2x III...

Would love to see photos taken with the 300 f2.8, was thinking of trading in my 1.4xII for a new 2xIII. Do you think the 2XIII is sharper than the old 2xII

300-2.8 and 2x TC III in really bad, foggy weather. I think the mkIII is better. Both sharpness and AF speed. I alway had a bit trouble with moving planes. The mk III seems to do a better job, even if the weather is really really bad :-(

All shots were cropped by varying amounts.

There were quite a few mis-hits on focus, the combo is pretty heavy, think that I might need to move to monopod for this combo going forward. :o
