I ran by this image today while searching for others.... I thought I would share.
This was taken a few weeks back at Buttonwillow raceway.
Let me know what you think of the whole package, except lighting..... I have nothing but full sun near noon to shoot.....
Also, I know there are some people not taken with pan shots. I feel you can make a not so "fast" looking rider/car and make them appear much better than they are. Let me know what you think.

Nice pan Kent. Good feeling of speed.
You're right, the light is brutal there.

My real question is, a stop action shot is easier to shoot and looks good, but you can not get the feel like a slow speed pan? Yes you could make it look that way in PS... I get customers that like the pan shots and some that don't. It is usually the "slower" riders that like the pan shots since it makes them look faster.....
