Lovely!

That old fishing boat, with it's weatherbeaten paintwork is just gorgeous!

Beautiful shot Marie; I love the way you have framed it with the old red brick of the wall. Really forces your eye into the scene. Well Done. :) :)

Whats with the access denied warning in the lower left of your post?  Just being nosey.

go back Sandy

( seriously, am delighted you said it , I never knew it was not showing but it must have been at some point as Mgoh and Scott seen it)

I knew you would love that old red brick wall.
the sun was shining on it and I wanted to emphasize it as it looked special.
I can get the boats any time but the sun shining on the bricks made it look lovely

thank you all very much

These are very nice, Marie, although I can only see two (red x for 3rd). Anyway, I love boats and marinas, and the texture of the old brick wall is a bonus.

I love the second picture the colours have a nice pastel feel to them, much like a painting.

Mgdh - I went to Cornwall for a summer holiday, in fact I posted a few threads with photos from my trip including one of Mevagissey Harbour (http://www.photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=97872) and another of the view from an Old Tin Mine (http://www.photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=93995). :D

Hi Marie,

I'm actually on the rugged North Coast near Newquay.

St Michael's Mount, Falmouth and St Ives are all within easy driving distance though :D

My website has a gallery of the local area: http://www.newquay-plus.co.uk/gallery/

Most of the pics have been taken to show events and are not up to the standard I would want for the forum :o. I plan on having a more photography based gallery soon. (Not that I shouldn't use proper composition at events, more that I include a lot more than I would otherwise so people can see themselves if they chose to look).

all those volkwagons are lovely . is it a club for them ?
my brother used have one

we were in Newquay on the way to Falmouth (stayed there for a week) so I know exactly where you are (now)
the red poppies growing all around in the grass are what struck me most about Newquay , looking down at the beautiful beach.
St Michael's Mount is something else  further on.
way out beautiful place to be
so many lovely places around Cornwall. I was in St Ives (loved it) and the other villages around
visited Truro where you took the other shot . met a dog named 'happy' and his master there. he sends a card every Christmas:lol:
visited 'Lands End' ,seemly owned by an American now

Thanks for the kind comments on shots I know are not up to standard!

The VW's are at an annual event, Run To The Sun at which there is a custom and concourse car show where I take most of these pictures. Many do very well at shows around the country, including my brother-in-law, who has the 'oval' that appears quite often in the pics ;)
