Lexar 256 24x

I have a S30, is it really worth it?

I'm also considering purchasing the 12x 256 by Lexar which is 1/2 the price.

I do want to upgrade to an SLR in the future, but for right now will I reallly see the performance in my S30 with a 24x?

With the S30 it won't make a difference. And the 12X is way cheaper. Cheap enough that if you get the DSLR later as I plan to, you can buy the new cards then.
