Need help deciding

I am looking to get a new lense setup. I shoot alot of my kids sports indoor and out. I have a DReb with a Sigma 28-200 f3.5-5.6 but would like more zoom. I would like to keep price around $600. Looking for something of 300 zoom or more. Could you recomend something even if I need to buy a lense with a teleconverter. Have looked at Sigma 135-400 and such. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Look at the Sigma 100-300 f4. Stellar performance and good in lower light, but maybe not suitable for indoor unless decent illumination ... dunno what is for $600. Works well with a TCon for longer term upgrading. Super fast AF. A nice light monopod will help keep things steady: Feisol CF is superb.
