7 vertically oriented images of the Cross Plains Valley stitched together with Panorama Factory. The largest version ("original") is 750k (pretty much DSL only).

Canon include PhotoStitch with the G2 - if you use the automatic photostitch helper on the camera (which makes it a lot easier to get a sequence that line up OK) just click on the zig-zag lines above the pics in the camera window... if not, you can manual open photostitch and add the pics you wish to join - it'll do the rest - they recommend around 30% overlay for matching purposes, but if you have strong 'landmarks' to help join things together you can get away with less...

Here's one I prepared earlier... :-)

D:

I think that your panorama is quite nice. I particularly like the clarity in the foreground rock wall which I assume had to be stitched two or three times. There are some nice Fall-like colors throughout the landscape. I would be interested in learning whether the camera was on a tripod or not.

On the other hand, I think that you arrived on this bluff about 3/4 of an hour too early (or too late). The photo is a bit dark. I know that it probably looks lighter on your screen. But while the rock is nicely lighted, the fields are over-shadowed and not adding much drama to this moment in time.

PS: I have taken the liberty of attaching my 3rd attempt at a stitch.

What I ran into here was treed and sloping foreground. I stitched as I walked sideways. Frankly I could hardly see the overlap (or line it up) in the bright winter light. But I loved the mood in this run in my winter woods. But for all of the above reasons, the stitch cropped most of the tops and bottoms off the individual segments leaving me with this tank gunner view of the world. I will try again next year !
