I have photogenic lights and do not like them. They have to many dam buttons on the back. They are the 1250DR lights. I have seen alot of the photoflex star light kits used for digital. Best of all is what you see is what you get no test shots and they are small. I have seen the large starlight kit's at B&H for around $1,200.00 and thats not to bad. My question is are they good for travel photography? I often take my photogenic's with me for weddings and on location photography. Any one have these lights? and If so how do you like them. I am aware they are hot lights. Thank you and have a great day!

You are aware that the photoflex star light is designed solely for use in soft boxes right? They don't work with umbrellas or snoots or barndoors or focusing spots. If you only use softboxes and you have good reliable power then I guess those would work for you. Or you could just get some strobes with less buttons on the back. Also as you are aware they are hot lights which will add cooling time before you can pack them up after you shoot your weddings and whatnot. Maybe you could rent a set from your local pro shop for the weekend and try them out.
Good Luck to you.
