Coming back from some bird "hunting" I noticed this hibiscus in my yard, after a few trial angles and f stops, I got this:

Also I tried some high magnification macro, this is my kit lens at f/22 reversed on the end of my Sigma also at f/22: (that was really hard to focus w/o rails) This is a non-cropped picture

The flower shot is just excellent. The subject is just very stand-out. Excellent composition. As for high magnification, I agree that it's extremely difficult to focus; not to mention the very minimal working distance. Thanks for sharing.

On the flower it looks like the focus is on the back part (furthest from the camera) with the middle and front of the flower being out of the DOF (most of the flower is very soft). I'd have use the middle of the flower and used at least f10 depending on how far you were from the camera.

I normally shoot macro at f/11 but I was just getting back and forgot to set the camera to Av mode, it was mearly a couple of snapshots that turned out nice, and after seeing them on the computer I would have gone out and re-shot but these flowers only last one day.
