Today I shot pics of both daughter's soccer games. I am used to a short reaction time with my EOS slr, and am stymied with the shutter lag time of the G2. Any hot tickets for this? I realy like the camera, but in my hands, action shots are an accident. You just click away and hope to get one. Actually, that is pretty much like fast film cameras, except my hit rate was decent with a film camera and miserable with the digital.

Its the focusing lag that is frustrating, not the shutter lag. Most have much better luck with focus on single, not continous. Other than that all consumer level digicams have a similar focus limitation, and the only way around it is to prefocus on where the action is going to be before it gets there. Kevin describes it well:
