Signature Suggestion

i was looking at peoples signatures, and how they state what equipment they have and i thought, why not help people out, and have a extra bit to say what you specialise in.
seeing as this forum helps people more than almost any other.
a good signature might be:

Matt Bennell
Camera: Canon 300D DSLR
Extras: Mumbo Jumbo Lens', etc etc
Field: Wedding Photographer.

or

Matt Bennell
Camera: Canon 300D DSLR
Extras: Mumbo Jumbo Lens', etc etc
Field: Automotive

or

Matt Bennell
Camera: Canon 300D DSLR
Extras: Mumbo Jumbo Lens', etc etc
Field: Glamour/Portrait

or

Matt Bennell
Camera: Canon 300D DSLR
Extras: Mumbo Jumbo Lens', etc etc
Field: Camera Repairs


catch my drift? would make it alot easier for the new guys to find out who is worth listening to, and who is just spitting suggestions or trying to sound like they know what the talk about(like me ;))

and if anyone has any credentials, certificates, awards - you could add them too..
the more the merry, you're not bragging - you're letting people know that you know your stuff and are trying to help..

so, before you post in this thread, i expect to see your signature in the format as above :P ha ha.

!AND! i reckon POTN should nominate people to be certified "Cornering the Pros" posters.

i tend to post in there a bit sometimes forgetting i've only ever touched a DSLR once :P
so, if POTN mods or admin see someone who they think actually knows what they're talking about, they could give them an additional titles "POTN Pro Shooter"

Yup, it's a good idea, but it has limitations.

A lot of people are uncomfortable giving all that information. Heck we can't even get everyone to list their locations.

There are some people who consider equipment lists 'lame', and others who don't particularly want the rest of the world to know what all they own

I would say that anyone who wants to set up their signature that way is free to do so. I might even encourage it, but we can't require it.
