After connecting your camera to the computer, open Windows Explorer. You will notice a 'drive' under 'My Computer'. Just drag and drop your photos to this drive.
I am assuming that you are on Windows XP. Windows 9x/2000 would have similar drive setup provided you have a plug and play(pray!) USB connection.

It depends on what OS you are running, and also the type of files you are trying to put back on your cam.

I just tried it on mine and it works fine! I am using Windows XP as well.
Have you tried reinstalling your camera?

I have the same problem, I tried everything, recovery, drop and drag, the send to "drive" from windows explorer, the pictures won't show up on the camera, but if i put the CF card in the reader, the pictures are there !I'm running win98. They are in jpg format.

I found that the WIA drivers wouldn't let me write to the CF in the camera. But what did work was using zoombrowser - under "camera and memory card" select "upload images" .. It should be pretty straightforward from there.

Kyle,
If you are using an S230, G3, or S45, you can set the camera to PTP (Photo Transfer Protocol) mode in the playback menu. In this mode, the camera should act as an external disk drive, and function like is mentioned in the earlier post in Windows Explorer. With the S400, A60, A70, A300 and S50, it will always use PTP mode when connected to an XP or Mac OSX machine.

I decided this problem, complete decision:
1. Problem is exist if you have Windows XP and using
WIA Driver, in Windiws 98SE you may upload any
images (even modified) through ZoomBrowser upload
but you have select not as is option, but option with
size of image. ZoomBrowser will save it in right format.
In Windows XP problem is not so easy, but i decided it:
2. You must save your original images in another directory for buckup.
3. Edit you images in any editor.
4. Use Exifer program or other to save EXIF data from original image
5. Attach saved EXIF data to edited image (because much editors delete this data, for example PS7.0)
6. View image in ZoomBrowser and Save As it in the same name (as original name) in quality 100%. It need for creating image in recognizing format by Canon.
7. You will need Card Reader/Writer (10-15$).Save images to card through it and camera will recognize them.
8. For any problems write me borsland@mail.ru

More Ideal Solution:
Change firmware in your camera (I have S45) to version
1.0.2
In my case i can now upload images in Windows XP after update firmware.
You can find firmware at Bebit Canon Site (Japan) and
help how to do it.
