Hey all. I just got off the phone with Adorama. Placed the order for my 10D, a few lenses, and some other misc nickle ($100) and dime ($200) items. ;-)
I know we all have our prefered purchase methods, but just wanted to share for anyone else getting ready to purchase... my sales person said they are currently getting weekly shipments of 10D's from Canon, and as it stands, they have been able to fulfill just about every order as the shipments arrive (in other words, the order list does not greatly exceed the quantity being delivered).
They told me to expect shipment in 7 to 10 days, which is much better than I've heard at other places (called everyone from Dell, Gateway, and CDW to other online retailers and even my local shops, all have said at least 4 weeks delay, maybe longer). I've also heard that people with current orders at some of the above outlets have been repeatidly delayed. Don't know if it's really true, just been reading it a lot in the forums.
Btw, I will be paying sticker street price at $1499, no surprise there. I've heard rumors of sales near $1300, but these were also some of the places having lots of delays.
I have no relation to Adorama, I've just used them a lot in the past and always been 100% happy with them. Just wanted to share for anyone that has seen delay after delay and are growing impatient. :-)
Happy shooting.

I also just ordered a canon 10 d from Adorama...actually my order went in on 4/9...I was also told by the Salesman that they have been getting shipments of the 10 D about every week and have been able to fill most of the orders ...So he said in would be about 1-2 weeks probably before I get the camera...I have purchased camera equipment from Adorama before and they are one of the best ( on par with B&H). Hopefully I will have the camera soon

Update:
I just ordered my 10D YESTERDAY, as in, less than 24 hrs ago from Adorama (see post above) - I just got an email from Adorama noting that my order had been shipped!! No kidding. If I'm reading this correctly, I should have my new 10D in my hot little hands by this weekend.
Aparently their wait list isn't too long, because I would have beeon on the bottom of it, and it looks like I'm getting my camrea.
On the down side... they are back ordered on my macro! (Canon 100/2.8 USM). Bummer. I'll have to play with the 24-85 for a while then.
Anyway, just wanted to share again. Two thumbs up for Adorama, and anyone wanting to place an order with confidence.... dial them up as it looks like the wait time is pretty low right now.

I've ordered from Adorama for the past 5 years and NEVER had a problem. They are honest and good priced on just about everything. They take things back if you want with no hassle.
Great place.

ps. No, I don't work for Adorama ;-) I'm on the West Coast.....

I've never shopped with Adorama, live in the UK, but wanted to post to share in your joy! I've had my 10D for a couple of weeks and love it!
Go Cannon! :D

I ordered mine on Saturday from Jessops (UK), £100 over lowest price seen, but it arrived in store on Monday, problem is I can't get off work to pick it up until Monday next week.
Bugger!

Got mine from B&H PhotoVideo - hassle-free and very quick! I guess everyone knows it comes without a CF card - probably a good thing 'cause I would not be amused if they had included a 32 MB card such as found bundled in the G2...!

Ray - the CDW site lists the 10D for $1499. How did you get it for $1315., and did that include shipping?
Tnx -

An update:
Okay all, I'm REALLY happy now. My tracking number said to expect delivery tomorrow. I woke up to a ring at my door this morning, and there was the delivery man with a package for me.
I placed this order less than 48 hrs ago, and I've got me new 10D in hand now. I ordered 3 day shipping, and it came in 2 days (checked the invoice, I was only billed for 3 day shipping).
I never get this lucky with anything, so you can understand why I'm so happy. If my luck continues, my camera will work as expected. ;-)
Time for some test shots. Now where did my cat go?
Here kitty kitty kitty....

I purchsed mine from Aden Camera in Toronto, on April the 10th (afternoon). I received it on the following afternoon. Their service was excellent, and their price the best in Canada (OK, our prices are higher on electronics than in the U.S.). Also, they seemed to be the only ones with it in stock (I was shocked to find anyone with this camera in stock).
Going from a Nikon D1 (always a Nikon shooter) this was a bit of a change. I have been waiting toooo long for Nikon to produce a camera like this, so am selling all of my Nikon gear.
Canon, keep up the good work, and I may never feel the need to switch back to the (at one time) superior Nikon system.
P.S. Canon, if you are listening, add a spot meter next time (corresponding to the AF point) and easier AF point selection.

How about that.... No more reverse threaded lenses!!!! That's worth a switch to Canon alone. Rightey tightey, lefty loosey.
Of course, now that I've drilled the backa$$wards Nikon into my head, it will be like starting over again, but somehow I feel better knowing my lense goes on and off in the correct direction. ;)

Alas, B&H is closed for the holidays. It's on the front of their website.
