View Full Version : Fly picture with extension tubes

There was apparently no insects this evening , but looking
carefully, I found this little fly (3mm long) .
Used my 50mm 1.8 lens and the full set of Kenko extension tubes
with my 350D and 420EX flash with omnibounce attached on it.
I found that approaching very close to the fly(2or 3 cm) a white paper sheet
to help to have more flash light reflected onto the fly helped a lot.
Hope you'll like this little hairy fly :)

PS: I used the unsharp mask in photoshop to get the picture sharpness.

Wow... I don't think I've seen that much detail on a fly. Amazing shot!

Jose, This photo is vey sharp. :D The fly is kind of strange looking to me. I'm not sure I've seen one of those before. :rolleyes:

I have seen pictures of this kind of fly on the web and was thinking also that
there was not such kind of flies in my neighborhood.
There are so tiny that you dont think to shoot them if you dont have the right
gear so you dont know how they look like.
