newbie question

The picture does not get captured and displayed on the
LCD display. Camera takes the picture, acknowledges it, shows the picture, but it's all black.
LCD is not completely dead as all the signs (like in settings and dates) are seen, but not the picture.

Any idea????

Not sure what camera you are using but I have the S400 and if I have the continuous mode selected it will not show the picture on the display.

There's an option where you can tell it to not a picture after you take a shot, you probably have that selected. Consult the manual.

Also check your LCD brightness setting.
