Hi all. I'm new here and wanted to introduce myself and start soliciting comments on some of my pictures. I took this picture of a girl working at a Renaissance Festival recently.

Any comments will be greatly appreciated.

I love the colors and geometery in the photo,I like the pose and the model...my only suggestion would be to have focused thru the spider web and on the eyes of the young lady...Its a nice composition and capture:)

I like it as well...but just like Peachman I'd like to have seen the focus on the girl, that's where my eyes go. =o) Great shot tho...which Renaissance Festival did you go too?

Thanks! I do wish I had done as you both suggest on that shot. I took several of her, but didn't really get her eyes well on the ones through the web.
That was the Maryland Renaissance Festival. It's a lot of fun and a great opportunity for photos. I think I shot around 200 :)
I guess I should mention my equipment. I'm using a 300D. That day, I was using a Canon Zoom Normal-Telephoto EF 55-200mm. I'm looking forward to adding a 20D in the very near future.

Bruce

great capture of a great expression. The others have covered the focus issues pretty well so I won't comment again.
How do you like that lens? I had the Sigma 55-200 and it turned out to be a POS.

Thanks! The lens has performed well when I've used it. That day at the festival was the first time I had used it in months and I was very pleased with it. Most of what I shot was from quite a distance.
I'm a watch collector and have been concentrating on watch photography for months, except for taking pics of my son. I've mostly been using the stock Canon lens that came on the 300D and also a 100 mm Canon macro lens, so I'm just getting back into shooting other subjects. I imagine I'll be using it a lot!
I'll try to post a few more later this evening. Thanks for the comments.
Cheers,
Bruce
