Sigma tripod mount on 70-200 IS

Hi,

The subject says it all: is it possible to use a sigma 70-200 2.8 tripod mount on a canon 70-200 IS ?

I really don't like canon's tripod mount : always have to remove the lens from the body and turn it.
Sigma is a lot easier and secure as well.

Has anyone already tried this ?
