Footswitch for 1ds

When copying large numbers of pages from books or catalogs you need both hands free to hold down the original and to turn the page. Is there a footswitch to trigger the EOS 1ds?

Never heard of one, but it could be made;

If you cut the remote switch cable and fit a 3.5mm jack plug/socket pair, you can then fit whatever you want to the end - I use a stereo extension cable to make it longer.

The actual contacts required are very simple - shorting one pair does the first press, whilst adding the third contact fires the camera.

Once you have the means of connecting something to it, then a simple foot-operated three contact switch ought to be easy enough to concoct.
