Ok, since I was dumb and got carried away at my last shoot I completely forgot to try out some of the settings on my new flash. Namely 2nd Curtain Sync.

Anyways, my question is will I get good results shooting in Shutter Priority? I figured out that to stop the action I need a Shutter Speed of atleast 1/250. So if I were to set the flash to High Speed Sync and shoot in Tv with it locked at 1/250 would I get good results? I've heard that flash is best when used in fully manual or P mode, but I'm not quite sure about Av or Tv

I love ETTL II. I manually set my shutter and fstop and let the flash worry about the amount of light it needs to output. When using the flash, I very rarely work in AV, TV or P.

Sheldon, I'm assuming you are talking about when you are using the flash as your main light source, right? Of course, you can shoot that way (in manual mode) in daylight while using the flash for fill lighting but you'd have to be on your toes and keep your eyes on the meter in the viewfinder to make sure you're not going to over- or underexpose the shot. Although, now that I think of it, if the ambient light is pretty consistent, it's not as bad as it sound. :)
