Only three post-worthy (in my mind ), the usual spot (my front yard) with the usual lens (Sigma 70-300 Macro, no not APO )

Limited Crop, did not notice the tiny ant until post-process

Only non-crop of the three, this was one BIG grasshopper (like looking thing anyhow)

some sort of wasp, and I know it has that blue tinge thing, but I dont know how to fix it exactly

All 3 are excellent. Very sharp on all of them, with plenty of color and very well composed, DOF is perfect. Great job on all of them.:D :D

Thanks
I have begun to realize that all of my "good" shots are normally not what I am after. Today, for example, I was only out looking for the butterflys that like to hang around, but ended up with these three, and the grasshopper was right next to the door to my house, as I was going inside. I have now reached the point where I can be selective in my shots, like the angle and the lighting, instead of my former "oh look! a bug!" *shutter noise*.

They are great Jonathan! I like the fly the best...

Thanks mebailey, I have a sort of affection for those things, everone else in my family hates them so much (except in pictures), but I dont really mind them, especially with camera in hand. I must have a couple hundred images on my computer of this type of fly alone, probably 20 or more per individual (in the hopes that one comes out), and I am slowly going back and deleting the bad ones, but I have been able to save a few.

Nice job Jonathan, certainly a lot of blue in the two last insects. My favorite is the first one, it has a lot of punch and the colors are realistic.

thanks everyone.

While I am at it, I seem to have a bit of backround for the first two but not the last, time to fix that. The last image was one of only two I managed before the thing flew away, I would have had more but when I noticed it I was in the process of trying out how well my Yashica 50mm works in reverse (suprisingly well, it turns out that the focusing ring fits on the mount perfectly, i.e. in side the mount but resting on the parts that stick in, so that the mirror does not hit it). As soon as I noticed the wasp I removed the 50 and slapped on the Sigma (on top of my bag at the time, already "set-up" for macro). Got two shots off and away it went.

the shots altho are very cool from a focus/dof point of view but i agree with dancinec about the colour temperature in the last 2 shots. (just WAY too much blue)....the 1st one also looks a little over saturated
