got my new Sigma 105mm macro lens today :)
not had much chance to play with it yet
so here's a pic of a wee shield bug.
the lens appears to be nice n sharp and the working distance is way better than with my macro tubes and ef50 (manually focused this one coz i can't seem to get my head around the AF yet :))
f/22 1/200 (with built in flash) iso 100 (exposure levels brought up a bit in raw shooter, apart from that i didn't do anything to the image)

Very sharp and great detail, also very good DOF. Only the left antenna is cut off.

thanks for the comments guys... its a pretty cool little lens (tried both the 150 and 105 in the shop and tbh i don't think the 150 was £180 better)...... the 105 will do the job for me :)

Nice stink bug shot! I like the shot angle and colors. You could go back and catch the next instar after it molts.

Alan, you finally got your new lens. Congrats! It looks like it's a great lens. Very sharp and the colors are great.
Working distance is one major advantage of using a dedicated macro lens. Don't forget to try out the macro lens with tubes for more magnification. I just can't wait to see more shots from you!

Nice shot Alan (pity about the antenna though). Manual focusing is the only way to go!!
I also have this lens and I'm very happy with its resolution. I did have some err99 problems, but those have been fixed.
