This pano of Lower Manhattan shot at the dusk-to-night transition. Shot from Jersey City with a Canon 50D and 70-200 2.8 lens, it required around 30 or so photos. They were stitched together with CS4; the original is over 25,000 pixels wide.

Awesome. I love this shot. I'm a sucker for panos from this vantage point of the city.

This is a pano view of Salt Lake City. Obviously I messed with the sat./contrast, but I like how it turned out. This was my first attempt at a pano. I think I'm getting addicted.

Here is a 180 degree panorama I shot of the Jaisamand Lake near Udaipur. Sorry about the poor quality as I wasn't using a tripod and my A720 P&S isn't all the wide or great.

When I was taking this sequence of shots, I knew I wanted the man fishing to be in the the panorama. I'm glad someone likes it. :)

A bit larger here.

From Kaneohe, Oahu.

Not a particularly original shot, but I thought the pano came out well.

The lines are created because the images have different exposure. You can avoid this by holding the * which locks the exposure on Canon DSLRs

Re: Post your best panorama

dunno if it's my best, but just got back from seattle and was playing with some files.

original file is 53615x4487 (240.5mp) i think it was ~18-22 images stitched together. shot at 85mm f4 i believe (on 85 1.2L II)

^full city scape

^crop

photoshop decided to create a perspective fisheye (and after waiting an hour or so to complete, i didn't feel like going back and letting it try again w/o perspective adjustment.)

did a night scape as well.

it was a little smaller (maybe 8 images total) but the iso was so high i ended up reducing the image height to 1600 w/o losing much if any information

^tighter crop of just downtown area

the original file size was reduced to 12264x1600

and last scape i feel like playing with this morning was a different perspective (non fish) from the harbor (similar to the first one, but tighter crop)

i need to let my wife do some post on these, i was trying to decide which to have printed at like 24x6 for a little pano in our hallway.

FYI,
If you have a Costco nearby you could get 3 of those on a 20x30 print for $9. I've done that with similar form factor wide panos and it came out very nice. I just merge them all into one jpg with a desired background. For up to 30" prints they can't be beat. Just upload on their web site and go pick it up a few hours later. They seem to have trouble uploading large tiffs so a max quality jpg is the way to go. (I don't work for Costco)

Here's the only offering I have for this thread, from Lake Como in Italy in May. It is an 18 shot HDR pano, need to work a bit more on the sky to the right of the shot as there is a bit of banding there that is annoying me:

A macro panorama. 4 images shot portrait and panned horizontally using a telecentric lens to eliminate parallax.

Hi, I post over in Birds and do not do much at all in landscape photography. Looking through this thread has been thoroughly enjoyable. My work pales in comparison to some of the fine images posted, but here is my best panorama to date. It is a fall depiction of the land I drive through on my way home from work. If you like farm land, it is pretty country.
The pano consists of 15 horizontal and 11 vertical hand-held photographs merged via Photoshop Elements 6. One day, maybe I'll get to try a panorama with proper tripod and head equipment.
