Re: DSLR Bubble

I have had several DSLRs, and recently bought a canon sx130IS. The image quality of the 130is isn't worse than I was expecting. What makes it frustrating to use is the slow focus speeds and...

Re: ACCORDING TO DXOMARK THE 50MM 1.8 NIFTY FIFTY IS BETTER THAN 50MM 1.2 L & 50MM 1

...I've seen a lot of tests, and aside from beautiful bokeh characteristics of the 1.2 the 1.8 compares very favorably to the others.

where it differs is build quality (poor), and price (great).

Re: Night Photography problem

it seems like a quirk of the lens. these are diffraction spots, created by internal lens reflections. Not much you can do about it except stop down a bit.

Re: Client wants to see pics before processed?

If you didn't get the shots they want, you didn't get the shots they want, and seeing the unprocessed images won't change a darn thing.

Re: Just ordered Zeikos 7D Grip (AA questions)

1) AA's won't do any harm to your camera
2) they won't last anywhere near as long as the lithium ion batteries.

Re: 7D + 24-70m worth it?

I would take the 24-70 only if weather sealing is important to you. When used together the 24-70 and 7d are weather resistant. If that isn't important, the 17-50 probably have a more useful range...

Re: Differences in design xxD vs: xxxD

edited. also, would not trust the 5d's weatherseal. it's hard to put it into quantitative terms, since there isn't any, but 'weather resistant' would be a better term.

xxxd = 1.6x crop consumer (small cameras)
xxd = 1.6x prosumer (medium sized cameras)
1d = 1.3x pro, weathersealed, advanced autofocus autofocus (big cameras)
1ds...
