Re: Anyone using M-Disc for storage?

Thought about it, then noticed they were a bit more expensive. Then remembered that I dont need a DVD to last 100 years as I seem to move my backups to larger media every 10 or so. As backup media...

Re: What ND filter to buy...

Just go straight for the B+W. You will in the long run anyway and the cheap ones will only make things worse and be a waste of money when you through them out.

Re: Recommendation for a 9 year old?

Good choice. Todays point and shoots are very feature packed and pretty darn good quality for the price. For a 9 year old I would think it would be a very good start.

Re: Simple (stereo) mic upgrade for T3i

I really dont think there is anything out there for less than $30 that will make the sound pickup any better than the in camera... Guess I could be wrong though as I have never even considered...

Re: Mac mini 16GB RAM - OEM or not?

I also go with Corsair Vengence memory for my Apple devices. Never failed me yet! But yes, do not buy their overpriced RAM.

Re: lcdvf or zacuto z finder for still photos

First of all, AF when using LiveView is pretty slow to respond. And if youre thinking of zooming in to adjust focus when using LiveView the problem will only get worse as the zooming in magnifies all...

Re: Are flash brackets helpful?

Only if you get an RRS, Newton or Custom Brackets flash bracket. Otherwise all the other options Ive owned and/or played with/seen are a waste of money or more of a pain tow work with than a help.

Re: What's Your Computer Build?

Did a little upgrade to my beast, added a second GTX 670 FTX to feed this 30 incher and man has it been nice for gaming! My first dabble in SLI. Lots more heat coming out of my case now though!

Re: Microphone for Canon 5D?

Try asking this in the Video section. But be prepared, getting good audio can cost more than you have invested in camera gear depending on what you want to do.

Re: 15" Retina MBP, 8GB or 16GB RAM model for Lightroom?

Yea I always use an external monitor with my laptop too. Retina display does look amazing, but I cant work on a 13" or 15" display. Anything less than 24" and I feel like I want to quit.

Re: 15" Retina MBP, 8GB or 16GB RAM model for Lightroom?

Yep, I would def recommend going with a normal MBP. I did, a 13" and then upgraded the HDD to a 512GB SSD and upgraded to 8GB of ram and of course can upgrade to 16GB later if I need it. Those Retina...

Re: Sachtler System Ace L TT 75/2 CF Carbon Fiber Tripod, do you recommend?

Lame, looks like you cant buy the ACE L head alone either. Just like the older one. That really does suck.
